Manager Jo starts Masters' Degree

Following on from our owner, Claire, undertaking her Masters in Early Childhood, we are delighted that our Manager, Jo, has begun hers.

It focuses especially on working with families and children and is delivered by the University of Hertfordshire in partnership with the renowned Pen Green Centre for Children & Families in Corby.

Claire is currently working on her dissertation, which will conclude her Masters. This is exploring the question as to why Early Years is undervalued - many studies indicate that the first 5 years of a child's life are fundamental to their future development and life opportunities and yet successive Governments underfund it and it is still seen as 'childcare/babysitting' by many when, in fact, we are engaged in vital early years' education.

Jo has a great deal of hard work ahead of her and is very excited by the course, which is part-time. Here at The Children's Garden, we place a great deal of emphasis on continued personal development and their learnings will be used to continue to question and improve how we do things at TCG.
